1komma5° Acquires Majority Stake in Leading Queensland Solar Installer
1komma5°, a German-based energy and electrification company, has announced its fourth and largest investment in Australia with the acquisition of Queensland-based solar and storage company, Arkana Energy Group. The company, which officially launched in Australia in November last year, aims to convert 500,000 buildings annually to climate-neutral power, heating, and mobility on a global scale.
Backed by European conglomerates such as Porsche Ventures and the co-founder of German battery giant Sonnen, 1komma5° entered the Australian market with a $100 million investment to purchase rooftop solar and battery businesses in the region. The company offers a comprehensive energy solution to Australian households and businesses, including its Heartbeat energy management system.
1komma5°’s initial acquisitions in Australia included a controlling stake in New South Wales-based solar and battery retailer Natural Solar in October 2022, followed by the purchase of microinverter and Tesla battery specialist Solaray Energy in January. The company further expanded its portfolio by acquiring a stake in South Australia-based Kozco Energy Group, a prominent player in renewable energy and air conditioning services.
