Cutting-edge solar panel line prioritizes efficiency and sustainability.
Singaporean solar manufacturer Maxeon Solar Technologies has introduced a cutting-edge range of rooftop solar panels designed for both residential and commercial use. These innovative panels boast a distinctive cell design and circuitry and are certified as “cradle to cradle”.
The newly unveiled SunPower Performance 7 solar panels by Maxeon incorporate the latest iteration of the company’s patented TOPCon cell technology within a shingled-cell layout. This design not only enhances power output but also improves efficiency, reliability, and visual appeal.
Available immediately to customers in the APAC region, these solar panels have been specifically engineered to better manage shade, reduce hotspots, and maintain lower cell temperatures for optimal performance.
Featuring a power output ranging from 440W to 455W, the SunPower Performance 7 panels offer a bifaciality of 80% (with a variance of plus or minus 10%) and an efficiency level hovering around 22%, depending on the selected option (ranging from 21.7% to 22.4%).
Bill Mulligan, CEO of Maxeon, expressed confidence in the new SunPower Performance 7 products, citing the company’s extensive patent portfolio developed over nearly four decades as a key driver of value for solar customers.
Maxeon underscores the durability of these modules, constructed with a glass-glass design capable of withstanding various extreme weather conditions such as hail, wind, snow, and temperature fluctuations. Additionally, the panels come with a comprehensive 30-year power, product, and service warranty.
Of significant note, Maxeon’s Performance 7 panels have received the prestigious Cradle to Cradle Certification from the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute.
The Cradle to Cradle Certification evaluates the safety, circularity, and sustainability of materials and products across five key areas: material health, product circularity, clean air & climate protection, water & soil stewardship, and social fairness.
Michelle Molloy, managing director of MBDC, an accredited assessor of the Cradle to Cradle certification program, commended Maxeon for their transparency and strong supply chain relationships throughout the certification process. She highlighted Maxeon’s dedication to achieving long-term sustainability objectives.
“We are delighted to have collaborated with Maxeon on this journey and anticipate further partnerships to drive positive change within the solar technology sector,” Molloy added.
