Energy retailer’s solar and battery cash-back deal
Momentum Energy, an Australian electricity and gas retailer, has announced a new initiative to incentivise customers to invest in solar and battery solutions. Through a partnership with Solargain, a leading national PV provider, homeowners and small- to medium-sized businesses in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, and Queensland will have access to a range of clean energy options.
The collaboration aims to make it easier for customers to generate and utilise their own renewable power. Solargain will take care of the installation, product selection, rebate applications, and ongoing support, offering services such as hybrid inverters, real-time energy monitoring, home batteries, and efficient electric and solar hot water systems.
Benefits of the Partnership
Customers who choose to invest in a Solargain product through Momentum Energy will receive a one-time $100 bill credit as a reward. This initiative comes at a time when there is increasing interest in solar and battery solutions, especially with recent announcements regarding subsidies for batteries.
Cam Taylor, Momentum’s head of energy solutions, highlighted the importance of partnering with a reputable provider like Solargain to meet the growing demand for sustainable energy solutions.
This collaboration with Solargain follows Momentum Energy’s previous partnership with Goodbye Gas, an electrification start-up based in Melbourne. The voluntary program, aimed at Momentum’s gas customers in Victoria, offers to cover the gas abolishment fee for customers transitioning to fully electric homes in partnership with Goodbye Gas.

Momentum’s managing director, Lisa Chiba, emphasised the company’s commitment to promoting sustainable practices and reducing carbon footprints. Encouraging customers to transition to all-electric homes, particularly when combined with solar panels, is seen as a significant step towards environmental conservation.
