Enphase boosts micro-inverter warranty to “close gap” with solar panels

Enphase extends IQ8 Microinverter warranty to match solar panels

Enphase Energy Extends Warranty for IQ8 Microinverters in Australia

Enphase Energy, a Californian energy technology company, is raising the bar for solar quality standards in Australia by extending the warranty for its IQ8 Microinverter product range to 25 years. This move marks a significant milestone in the industry, offering customers enhanced peace of mind and long-term investment security.

The IQ8 Microinverters, touted as the industry’s first grid-forming microinverters with split-phase power conversion capability, efficiently convert DC power to AC power. Starting from 1st October, these microinverters will automatically qualify for the extended 25-year limited warranty, aligning them with the warranty duration of most solar panels in the market.

Enhanced Warranty Terms for Solar Investment Security

Enphase Energy Australia’s General Manager, Patrick Matweew, highlighted the importance of quality assurance in solar systems. He emphasised that while Australian households lead in adopting rooftop solar, ensuring both quantity and quality in sustainable energy is crucial. The extended warranty aims to not only provide electricity bill relief but also guarantee long-term reliability for consumers.

Matweew stated, “Identifying the disparity between solar panel and inverter warranties as a potential issue affecting return on investment for homeowners, Enphase is bridging this gap to offer unparalleled solar investment security.”

Safe and Reliable Technology

Enphase currently offers three models of IQ8 Microinverters in Australia, known for their safety features and reliability. Priced around $200 each, these microinverters are designed to be the safest option available in the market. Unlike traditional systems with a central inverter, the IQ8 Microinverter eliminates the risk of DC arc fault fires by never containing high-voltage DC power.

All IQ Microinverters are certified IP67 and constructed with a double-insulated, corrosion-resistant polymer housing, ensuring durability in various weather conditions. This robust design further enhances the longevity and performance of the microinverters, making them a top choice for Australian consumers.

Enphase’s commitment to quality and innovation is evident in the extended warranty for the IQ8 Microinverters, setting a new standard for solar technology in Australia and reinforcing the company’s position as a leader in the energy sector.
