JinkoSolar launches new Neo Green solar panels with zero carbon emissions.
JinkoSolar, one of the world’s leading PV module manufacturers, has announced the production of its first Neo Green panels from certified “Zero Carbon Factory” facilities. This milestone marks a significant step towards the company’s sustainability goals.
In 2019, JinkoSolar committed to the global RE100 initiative, aiming to source 70% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2023 and achieve 100% renewable energy usage by 2025. While the company has not disclosed whether it has met the 70% target, the recent unveiling of the Neo Green solar panels signifies progress in this direction.
Neo Green Solar Panels and Certification
The Neo Green panels, specifically the N-type TOPCon Tiger Neo panels, boast impressive specifications. With a power output of 635W and an efficiency rating of 23.23%, these panels also offer a maximum bifaciality of 85%. Notably, these panels are manufactured in facilities that have been certified as “Zero Carbon Factory” by TÜV Rheinland, a renowned German quality assurance group.
JinkoSolar has set a new industry standard by becoming the first company to receive the “Zero Carbon Factory” certification for various stages of its manufacturing process, including silicon ingot manufacturing, silicon wafer cutting, solar cell manufacturing, and solar module production.
Sustainability Initiatives and Future Plans
With an initial annual production capacity of 5GW for the Neo Green panels, JinkoSolar is prioritising renewable energy sources such as solar, hydro, and wind power for its manufacturing operations in Leshan, Chuxiong, and Shangrao. Additionally, the company is dedicated to incorporating recycled materials into its production process and transitioning to electric vehicles for transportation.
Furthermore, JinkoSolar is focused on reducing plastic usage in its packaging, aligning with its commitment to environmental sustainability. Dany Qian, the global vice president of JinkoSolar, emphasised the company’s dedication to sustainability, stating, “We are extremely proud to release our first Neo Green Panels produced in factories that use electricity from renewable sources.”
Qian added, “Our focus on providing customers with sustainable products and solutions underscores our commitment to a greener future, reflecting the values shared by our customers, partners, and investors.”
