Solar and Battery Microgrid Specialist Relocates Headquarters to Northern Territory
Generators and Off Grid Energy (GenOffGrid), a developer of off-grid solar and battery technology, is set to move its headquarters from Western Australia to East Arm in Darwin. This move comes as part of the Northern Territory’s Local Jobs Fund initiative. Established in 2017, GenOffGrid has created a rapid deployable solar power station paired with lithium-ion battery storage. This innovative technology has the capability to significantly reduce diesel consumption in off-grid communities by up to 94%.
Known for their “Solar Lithium Diesel Microgrids,” GenOffGrid has successfully implemented these solutions across Northern Australia. Their projects have been deployed in various settings including cattle stations, eco-tourism sites, agriculture projects, and Indigenous communities. Notable installations have been completed at Dry River Station, Melaleuca Station, Ormiston Gorge Rangers Station, and Berkeley River Lodge along the remote North Kimberley coastline.
With the attraction of a $3 million concessional business loan, GenOffGrid is making the immediate move to Darwin. The company plans to not only relocate its headquarters but also expand its support platform in the area. John Davidson, the CEO of GenOffGrid, expressed his enthusiasm stating, “We specialise in constructing remote solar power stations in Northern Australia and are delighted to receive support from the NT government.
