Tindo’s 5-Year Solar Panel Export Deal to Vietnam
Australia’s leading solar panel manufacturer, Tindo Solar, has recently finalised a significant five-year agreement to export its premium solar panels to Vietnam. The deal, valued at $8.4 million, was established with Thanh Do Australia, the local arm of Vietnam’s Thanh Do Construction Group, known for its involvement in various infrastructure, real estate, and clean energy ventures throughout Vietnam.
Under this agreement, Tindo will supply 15MW of top-tier solar panels to large-scale projects in Vietnam through Thanh Do. The initial shipment, comprising Tindo 430W rooftop solar panels manufactured at the company’s Mawson Lakes facility in South Australia, is scheduled to be dispatched to Vietnam within this month.
Quality Comparison
To provide context, the 15MW Sunshine Coast solar farm, operational since 2017, utilises 57,960 315W solar panels, while the 15MW solar farm at the Kennedy Energy Park in Queensland is equipped with 55,680 345W and 350W solar panels.
Long-Term Commitment
This latest deal marks Tindo’s lengthiest export agreement, spanning five years. All solar panels delivered will be accompanied by a 25-year product warranty and are cyclone-rated for durability.
Richard Petterson, Tindo’s CEO, expressed confidence in the company’s workforce and Australian manufacturing capabilities, particularly in catering to the high-end segment of a competitive market. He highlighted Tindo’s ongoing investments in research and development to ensure the production of superior solar panels that consistently outperform industry standards.
Petterson stated, “Australians are willing to invest slightly more in premium quality panels, and we have identified a similar demand for such products in markets like Vietnam.”
Recognition and Validation
Tindo received further validation last month when Choice, the Australian Consumers’ Association, rated Tindo solar panels as the top-performing modules in Australia. Among the 15 rooftop solar panels tested, Tindo’s 410W Karra model stood out with an ‘Excellent measured power output’ rating, achieving an impressive 92% ‘Choice Expert Rating’ – surpassing all competitors.
Petterson emphasised, “With a dedicated team of sixty professionals, we have developed a solar panel that competes on a global scale. Choice’s endorsement of our product is a significant achievement for both the company and our customers who opt for an Australian-made, premium solution.”
He added, “Tindo’s substantial investment in R&D, coupled with our in-house engineering team’s continuous efforts towards product enhancements, has led to the development of the eighth generation of solar panels since our inception in 2011.”
